Today was an award/celebration at school this morning. Not like kindergarten, I was kinda disappointed since I thought it would be a bit more or maybe some singing or something and had camera all ready to go and I never knew when she was going to be awarded something, so I probably got a minute of recording. She was the first name to be announced to for Reading in May and received a few other awards as well – one other being excellent attendance & the other in improvement in class participation award. She did well and she is so thoughtful and was concerned that others only got one award. So, sweet.
Here’s some pics – her spring school picture, her classroom picture in where she wore her high heel boots to be a little bit taller.
and a copy of one of her spelling tests from the year – there were many tests that she studied very hard for this year. First grade is a rough year, it’s a huge transition and though it started out fairly difficult, she has greatly improved and she should be very proud of herself, as we are! Next pictures are of her with certificates, Tif her friend Amanda, her teacher, and then her friend Sebastian as well.
Wednesday they have a field day outside with water stuff too. It is thundering out right now and it is supposed to rain tomorrow.
I remember I volunteered last year and it rained too. Thursday they go to town and see a movie and then blow bubbles in afternoon and that is the last day of school! No summer school, she doesn’t want to this year which is fine and I don’t blaim her. ha. But, we will be practicing a lot this year at home. I’m not sure what activity she’ll do, maybe swimming again and possibly dance. Ballet or Hip Hop?? ha. yeah, if you know me, I’m leaning towards hip hop. ha.ha. Actually she is so thin and tends to stand on her toes, she may be good at ballet. We’ll see…
Anyway, she has grown up in many ways this year and is a bit taller and her weight is starting to improve as well – 29.5 pounds – sooo close to 30, it seems like we’ve been waiting forever on this, but she is doing very well! Very petite and bright!
CONGRATS TO TIFFANY!
