Still Job Searching…

Still Job Searching…

Well, I’m still searching. The good news is that I seem to be getting a bit closer, have made some contact with some employers hiring and some that hopefully will hire soon! Job hunting is always hard, but I don’t ever remember it being this difficult! I’ve been looking at help wanted ads daily and applying for work since July! Even at JC Penney’s, Walgreens, etc. and still no luck!

Even companies I go to seem to pay very low and don’t offer any benefits and the hours often aren’t the greatest. Is it not the norm to have at least 2 days off in a row?? So, then I keep thinking – I’d might as well continue to work for myself. But, the hurdle I’m facing is no paycheck!! I have several web-sites, some I think I can get going & start making some money, but it also takes time & money to program them the way I want – mainly my job listing site anyway. And with the lack of jobs, it will be hard to get many advertisers, but I think I’ve got some great past customers when I published my newspaper.

More and more I see ads for writers/bloggers and I honestly think that is right up my alley! I’m not a professional writer by any means, but I’m always taking pictures, writing fairly continually on our family blog & a few of my other web-sites I own. (I would more, but I’m job searching much of my time and still looking for financing to finish our home!)

Anyway, my new goal is to find work blogging for a couple of good firms and/or web-sites where I feel I can contribute & obtain a “pay check” weekly.

And, don’t forget, my e-bay deal – listing stuff daily. I did okay for awhile and it kinda fell under the burner, so to speak! I’ll have to look back on my numbers, I think I may have averaged $50 a week or so for a month and I didn’t always list stuff daily as planned. But, I am going to go back on some sort of e-bay goal and listing plan. I think there is money to be made and I’ve always done okay on ebay. But, it is a lot of work too, finding and taking photos, then typing the listing, then preparing to ship and shipping and most items go for a lower value or deal to the consumer, which rarely leaves much profit for the seller, but there is some profit (and I’ll take anything.) :) )

Anyway, off to my search for some good blogging positions… wish me luck!
